Parking of travel trailers, utility trailers or other recreational vehicles shall only be permitted behind the front property line between the dates of April 15 and October 15. The parking area must be paved in accordance with Chapter 8, off street parking and loading. After October 15 and prior to April 15, the parking of travel trailers, utility trailers and/or other recreational vehicles shall only be permitted behind the building setback line.
The City is aware of some of the recent discussion within the community about the possibility of Aden Poultry Inc. establishing operations within Marengo. The property in question is located at 21808 West Grant Highway. This parcel is not within the City’s corporate limits and therefore not under the City’s jurisdiction. The City was approached about possibly servicing the property with City sanitary services and annexation, but declined on both as it was not felt this was an appropriate use as it was presented. The MORE Center, at 829 Greenlee Street will be accepting donations
beginning Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16 between
9am – noon only.
In order to help the victims, The MORE Center is asking that any items
for donations be listed in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The resulting inventory list will be kept and items will be requested
when the families are ready for assistance. We will update with specific
needs if additional donations are required.
**FOR RESIDENTS DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY HOME EXPLOSION ONLY**
Monday, June 12 at 5:00 p.m. at Marengo Community High School. This meeting is to update those affected by the blast on any updates. Again, this meeting is limited to only those who are directly affected by the home explosion.
If you have been affected by today’s home explosion, please head to Marengo High School at 110 Franks Rd, where staff from local EMA and Red Cross will be there to assist. The high school is also being used as a cooling station, and pets are welcome.
On Sunday, June 11, at approximately 04:50 a.m. Marengo Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Ave in Marengo for a possible explosion that resulted in a house fire. Upon their arrival there were four houses that were on fire, with numerous houses in the area impacted. One person was transported from the scene by ambulance.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene and at this time the fires are contained. The utility companies are currently conducting assessments of the areas. The State Fire Marshall is on scene and beginning their investigation.
Displaced residents are being transported to Marengo High School at 110 Franks Rd. In order to assist with the damage assessment any resident whose house was damaged is requested to make contact with Marengo City Hall at email@example.com or call 815-703-9707. At this time no donations are needed. If this changes we will advise what is needed on the City of Marengo website.

The 2015 Marengo Resurfacing program is anticipated to begin on Monday, September 28,
The project will begin with pavement removal on Willow Road and the patching of
Sunset Drive and Van Buren Street. Patching and pavement removal will be followed
with the resurfacing of Willow Road, Sunset Drive and Van Buren Street.
