mpodosek@cityofmarengo.comI
want to thank Honorable Mayor Donald Lockhart, the City Council and the
citizens of Marengo for allowing me this opportunity to serve this
community. Most importantly, I want to thank Chief Les Kottke for
his years of service to the City of Marengo and to McHenry County.
I am proud to be the Chief of Police for the City of Marengo Police
Department; so far I have encountered enthusiasm, dedication, commitment
and professionalism from the Emergency Telecommunicators, Police
Officers, Command Staff and Civilian Staff that have a deep desire to
excel in their duties and responsibilities when it comes to assisting
the public and businesses in Marengo.
The citizens of
Marengo are fortunate to have experienced and well trained professionals
that carry out their daily job tasks with pride and courage and
constantly give of themselves when the need arises. The Marengo
Police Department epitomizes and is committed to the community-oriented
policing philosophy because of the strong bonds that have been developed
over the continuous interaction with the public we serve and answer
to. We are accountable to the citizens who are sources of our
authority. The Marengo Police Department respects the cultural and
ethnic diversity of the community, we strive for sensitivity to, and an
understanding of this diversity. This is what gives the city of
Marengo its rich tradition of strong community values and community
involvement.
I look forward to working with the citizens,
businesses, community leaders, churches and schools. No one entity can make a
difference within any community; it must be a collaboration from each
and everyone that has a sense of responsibility to their fellow neighbor
and City. We must pledge to each other to do our utmost to make
the City of Marengo a safe and nurturing environment for everyone that
lives, works or travels through this historic
City.
Sincerely,
Martin Podosek
