The City of Marengo will be flushing fire hydrants from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday Thru Friday, for most of the fall. The hydrant flushing may cause red/discolored water and low water pressure during the process. Residents may want to check the water quality before doing laundry during the flushing hours to avoid discoloration of fabric. If you have any
questions, please call 815-568-1418 ext 224. Leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, root balls, potted plants, dead plants, small sticks and twigs are considered yard waste. 15.06(F) TWO-HOUR PARKING: Unless otherwise posted, two-hour parking shall be permitted in the Central Business District. Specifically, complaints focus on vehicles being parked in the Central Business District, for longer than the allotted time limit. If downtown patrons and business owners are intending to stay in the area for longer than two hours, it is recommended individuals use the City's Municipal Lots, which are conveniently located to allow access to the Central Business District. Please remember allowing for the flow and rotation of vehicles in the downtown area helps to stimulate patronage to our businesses, which benefits the entire community. At the very least compliance to the above stated regulation is the courteous thing to do for our fellow residents and patrons alike. Thank you in advance for assisting the Marengo Police Department in preserving the qualities of our town. The Marengo Police Department
