Marengo Economic Development Commission
Created in 2005, the Marengo Economic Development Commission (MEDC) strives to promote community and economic growth through effective business planning, proactive business retention, and coordinated recruitment of new businesses. The 11-member Commission holds regularly scheduled meetings at 7:30 am on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. All Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and all funding is provided by the City of Marengo.
Marengo EDC Mission Statement
The mission of the Marengo Economic Development Commission is to increase the quality of life by creating a business friendly environment to retain, expand, and attract businesses to Marengo. This will establish a balanced tax base to provide sufficient revenue for government services, promote competitive wages, and procure valued goods and services for residents.
Dedicated to Marengo
The MEDC is city funded and our main concern is the welfare of the community. The Commission is set up to encourage economic growth through business recruitment and existing business expansion and retention. This endeavor is undertaken to provide quality goods and services to the citizens of Marengo and provide the tax base needed for basic services such as police and road repair. Citizens and business are encouraged to contact the MEDC with creative and constructive idea for development of the City of Marengo and environs.
