HYDRANT FLUSHING 5/26/20-6/12/20
** The completion date has been extended from 6/5 to now 6/12. Thank you for your patience.
Public Works staff will be performing their annual hydrant flushing during the week of May 26th through June 5th. This is done to remove accumulated mineral sediment and improve overall water quality.
While crews are flushing near your business or residence you may experience low water pressure or in some rare cases a complete loss of service. You may also experience a temporary discoloration in your water during this time. If you experience this discoloration, please run your cold water at a high rate of speed until the water runs clear.
If you have any questions regarding flushing, please contact us at 815-568-2669.
Thank you for your patience during this time.

The 2020 Census is now underway and we encourage all residents to participate.
The impacts of this Census will be felt in other areas for years to come for the 1,298 cities, villages and towns in Illinois and more than 11 million people they serve. In 2015, the State of Illinois received more than 19.7 billion in federal assistance for 16 programs, or approximately $1,535 per capita. The problem you might ask? That funding is based primarily off of the 2010 Census count where only an estimated 76% of Illinois residents participated. The billions of dollars Illinois received was not the full proportion of funding it could have received if every Illinois resident was counted.
