Methods Whereby Public May Request Information and Public Records:

All requests for information shall be made to the FOIA Officer, and shall be addressed to or forwarded to the Marengo City Police FOIA Officer for Police Records or to the Marengo City FOIA Officer for any non-police Administrative Records. A form for convenience is provided below. Please be specific when describing the records you are seeking. The Freedom of Information Act is designed to allow you to inspect or receive copies of Records; it is not designed to require a public body to answer questions.
Requests for Records will be received only at the City Clerk’s Office located at 132 E. Prairie St., Marengo, IL 60152 in writing by email, fax, hand-delivery or U.S. Mail. The FOIA Request form can be found here.
The City of Marengo will not charge for the first 50 standard-sized (either 8 1/2” by 11” or 8 1/2” by 14”) pages provided as a result of a FOIA request. The City will charge $.15/page for each page greater than the initial 50 pages of the request. Colored copies will be provided and the requestor will be charged the actual cost to produce them. Copies provided which are greater than standard-sized will be charged at the actual cost to produce them.
Certification fee is $1. Records will be available for inspection only during normal office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
