The reconstruction of Prospect Street has begun! On Monday August 4, 2025 Pirtano Construction – the General Contractor for the project, had the SB Prospect Street detour installed. Work on the detour occurred in the evening and is in place today. The contractor has started to remove the existing SB pavement in preparation for the installation of the underground storm sewer improvements. The schedule is to place the underground, excavate and place the new road bed, and install curb and base asphalt by the end of August.
The Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to replace and widen the crossing on Prospect in late August or early September. Pirtano will have the SB lanes built to reopen the road as the RR will close Prospect at the tracks.
Construction will be ongoing so please drive carefully and watch for workers and equipment for your safety and the workers.
